This website uses HTML frames, for the purpose of keeping the lefthand and righthand bars of navigational content available at all times, regardless of which page is accessed. This also allows the navigational bars to be readily accessible even when scrolling through very long pages of text, of which there are many on this website.
Using HTML frames does have a major disadvantange. Linking directly to documents, rather than following the website’s internal pathing, will display pages without the lefthand or righthand navigational bars, which will make the site more difficult to navigate. Also, it will display pages in a more "spread out" format than intended.
(As an example, click here to see what the front page would look like if linked to directly, as opposed to using the proper frame structure.) To avoid this problem, I recommend always beginning at www.usuallydead.com and using the site’s internal pathing, rather than linking to pages directly.
